The problem is that the pre-patch doesn't drop at a guaranteed time so you can't say for certain how long anybody has to download the contents of the entire client. It isn't that your advice isn't useful, but that it's generally not the most well timed. We don't know when the pre-patch downloading will start and I guarantee you're going to have a really bad time if you're still trying to download ARR/HW/SB by the time that drops. Like seriously, if you have bad internet speeds, probably don't follow this advice.

Which I've never had an issue with ever, unless it was my myself fucking up the order you're meant to clean house in for patch cycles. It's still faster than redownloading the entire game and gives you that extra safety net if you really are that paranoid about Textools not properly backing index files up.
